By this point in her life, Garland was “a demented, demanding, supremely talented drug addict,” wrote Stevie Phillips, Garland’s former agent in her book Judy & Liza & Robert & Freddie.   Judy blamed everybody but herself for her problems. There's a lot of sleaze in Garland biographies but why not? Her life WAS sleazy. In Clarke's book (he is one of the worshipping queens) he tells of an incident where Judy went under the table in a restaurant to fellate her guy.

This was a gigantic biography of Judy Garland - at roughly large pages, small print, it took a while to get through. That's okay though. I loved it. It was the type of book you can pick up and put down, while reading other books in between/5. The film Judy, starring Renée Zellweger, explores these final days in London, but even the songbird’s own beloved medium of film can hardly capture the tragedy of Judy Garland’s death. The true story behind the movie Judy is even more tragic. Made For The Stage.   My Judy Garland Life is an interesting mix of memoir and biography, with the author inserting her own hero worship and thoughts into some history and details of Judy Garlands life. I loved the addition of many historical photos amongst the book/5.

Judy Garland died over thirty years ago, but no biography has so completely captured her spirit — and demons — until now. From her tumultuous early years as a child performer to her tragic last days, Gerald Clarke reveals the authentic Judy in a biography /5(25).   But a new book, “Judy Garland on Judy Garland: Interviews and Encounters,” edited by Randy L. Schmidt, offers a glimpse of what might have appeared in her autobiography.   Fifty years after the death of Judy Garland, the star is being reborn via two new films. In the biopic “Judy” (in theaters now), Renee Zellweger portrays the fading singer in the dwindling Author: Carly Mallenbaum.
